Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Supports Local Heroes Through New Community Grant Program
Sep/22/2025

Newnan, GA –September 22, 2025 – Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Local Heroes Grant Program, designed to support schools, nonprofits, and first responders in the community by providing access to Yamaha vehicles.
For years, Yamaha has received requests from local organizations for assistance in enhancing mobility, safety, and service to the community. This new grant program streamlines the process, ensuring that more of our hometown heroes can benefit from the vehicles they need to serve and protect.
Already, the program is making an impact:
- Peachtree City Fire Department recently received a Yamaha vehicle to expand its emergency response efforts. “The Yamaha Viking UTV will enhance the Peachtree City Fire Rescue Department's ability to respond to a wide range of emergencies by providing a versatile, off-road, and rapid-response platform specifically tailored to the city's unique geographic and recreational characteristics, said Clint Murphy, Fire Chief. “In short, the Yamaha Viking UTV acts as a specialized tool that fills a critical gap in the department's fleet. It addresses the unique geographic challenges of Peachtree City by providing a nimble, rapid-response vehicle that can access areas where traditional fire trucks cannot go, ultimately enhancing the department's ability to protect its citizens.”
- Coweta County Sheriff’s Office has also been awarded a vehicle, which is now being used to enhance search and rescue operations across the county.
- And for years, Yamaha has proudly supported Newnan High School, where students, staff, and visitors may have seen Yamaha golf cars in use at school events to assist with transportation and safety.
“At Yamaha, we are deeply committed to giving back to the community we call home,” said Kristin Webb, Manager of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. “This grant program is about supporting those who support us every day—our teachers, first responders, and local nonprofits. We’re proud to stand beside them and provide tools that make a real difference.”
The Local Heroes Grant Program is now open for applications. Schools, nonprofits, and public safety organizations interested in applying can learn more and submit their request by visiting CSR | Yamaha: https://www.yamaha-motor-georgia.com/csr.
